Libya's capital Tripoli (locally pronounced T'araboulus) is located on the western shores of Libya, about 170km from the Tunisian border. Tripoli airport is quite large and covers nearly 3sq km. It is protected by 2 breakwaters, the length of which are 2000m and 700m. About 600 vessels visit the port each year.
